Create Prompt
On this page you'll find the following:
Get Started
You can create brand new prompts from one of two places: by clicking the New Prompt link in the left sidebar or by clicking the purple New prompt button from the Prompt Library. You can create prompts one of two ways:
- Manually from scratch, or
- By letting Zatomic generate it for you
If you let Zatomic generate prompts for you, you can use any of the models Zatomic provides or you can use models from your own AI provider.

Create Prompt from Scratch
If you've got a good idea for what your prompt needs to be and the things it should include, then creating a prompt from scratch might be the way to go. You'll start with a blank editor and will need to start writing the prompt yourself. Simply give your prompt a name and (optional) use case and click the purple From scratch button.
Tip: While not required, it is strongly recommended to define a use case for each of your prompts. This greatly enhances the analysis when using Zatomic's prompt optimization tools.

Generate Prompt
If you have a general idea for a prompt, you can save yourself hours of time by letting Zatomic generate the prompt for you. This is where the importance of having a use case comes into play. By giving the prompt a use case, Zatomic can generate a prompt that is very specific to your business needs.
The use case can be however short or long you need it to be, but testing has shown that a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) is enough to generate high-quality prompts that satisfy their use cases.
Once you've entered the use case, click the purple Generate for me button. The generated prompt will start to stream in the PROMPT box on the right, and you'll see a Generating prompt... spinner below.
Tip: If you've created custom scoring criteria for your prompts, you can use the Criteria dropdown list to select the one that applies to this new prompt. Zatomic will then generate a prompt based on the use case *and* the selected criteria.

The prompt stream will complete after a few seconds, at which point the Generating prompt... spinner will be replaced with a green Use this prompt button. You'll also see the number of tokens used to generate the prompt and how long it took.
If you like the generated prompt, you can click the green Use this prompt button to create the prompt with the generated content. You can also click the purple Generate for me button again to regenerate a similar yet different prompt, giving you options to choose from.

Generate Prompt with Different Models
To change which AI model is used to generate the prompt, click the Settings link at the top-right of the PROMPT box.

This will open a side panel where you can select different models and change the temperature setting. Make your model selection, click the green Apply button, then generate the prompt.
Tip: Changing the temperature allows you to control how creative the prompt generation will be based on the given use case. Values closer to 0 will be less creative while values closer to 1 will be more creative.
